all your questions
How long are appointments?
In general, an initial appointment is conducted in 45 minutes. Any follow-up appointments are 30 minutes. This can vary depending on your issue. The reason why your initial is longer is because I take the time to understand your medical history and discuss about the issue you have been facing.
What to bring to your appointment?
You can wear clothes you feel comfortable in as I may ask you to walk or run depending on your issue. Sometimes it is also helpful if you can bring the shoes you use for sports and your everyday shoes.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
Some insurances require a referral from your doctor for podiatry to be covered. This is something you can ask reception when booking your appointment with me. If you do not require insurance approval then you do not need a referral to come and see me.
Does my insurance cover my appointment and treatments?
We can check for you when you call for booking. Give your insurance details to the receptionist and we will check for you what is covered or not.
Who are foot orthoses for?
Anyone and everyone who has a lower limb pain or dysfunction. But it requires a full assessment with a foot specialist to decide whether foot orthoses could be beneficial for you or not.
Are they only for my running shoes?
No we can custom made orthoses for your running shoes but also for your every day shoes. That is why it is great to work in collaboration with a lab as they can save the data and make more insoles at a later date adapted to a different type of shoe.
